Deer Creek Speedway
22nd Annual LRS Waste Services Southern Minnesota Spring Challenge
This Saturday, May 24th the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN will host the 22nd Annual LRS Waste Services Southern Minnesota Spring Challenge. The event will feature the Summit Racing Equipment United States Modified Touring Series presented by RacinDirt.
The USMTS series has made more visits to the “Mecca Of Modifieds” than any other facility on their schedule. This will be the only time you will see the “Baddest Modifieds On The Planet” in southern Minnesota until the Fall Jamboree held at Deer Creek in September!
Deer Creek will be the third stop on the three-race swing this weekend. Coming into the weekend, Jim Chisholm and Rodney Sanders are tied for the series points lead, each with two wins.
Tanner Mullens sits third and looking for his first USMTS win of 2025. Alex Williamson is fourth in points and Joe Chisholm who has one win is fifth.
Looking back at the history of this race, Kelly Shryock won the first event back in 2002. Rodney Sanders and Brandon Davis each have three wins. Shryock has two wins along with Tim Donlinger, Brad Waits and Dustin Sorensen. Darin Walker, Dan Chapman, Ryan Ruter, Jason Hughes, Ryan Gustin, Cade Dillard, Derek Ramirez and Lucas Schott all have one win.
Also on the card will be the Leroy Auto Clinic USRA B-Mods and the Meadow Greens Golf Course USRA Hobby Stocks. The B-Mods have produced three different winners in three races. Dustin Doughty has topped both Hobby Stock main events this year.
On Saturday the pit area will open at 4:00 p.m., front gates will open up at 5:00 p.m. Hot laps will begin at 6:30 p.m. and racing will start at 7:00 p.m. For more information visit the speedway’s website at www.deercreekspeedway.com or visit our Facebook or Instagram pages.
We hope to see you at Deer Creek Speedway on Saturday for the LRS Waste Services Southern Minnesota Spring Challenge. This is an event you will not want to miss.
