USRA Northern Lights part of Gopher 50 lineup
SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (July 1, 2025)—This weekend will be one of the largest for the new Kevko Racing USRANorthern Lights Modified Series presented by Real Racing Wheels, as part of the Gopher 50 Charitable Late Model Race at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn.
With four races in the books for the first year tour, Brandon Davis and Joe Chisholm are tied at the top of the standings. Jacob Blees, the most recent winner, is just six points out of the lead in third. Rodney Sanders and A.J. Hoff round out the top five.
Deer Creek Speedway, long known for outstanding USRA Modified racing will have it's own strong contingent of cars in attendance as well. Zach Brom leads the track standings, 43 ahead of Parker Hale. Josh Angst, Harley Dais and Ryan Wiome make up the top five.
The series will run in support of the World of Outlaws and the long standing Gopher 50 event. The Blooming Prairie Jaycees started the event back in 1980, and Deer Creek Speedway has hosted it since 2005.
The event will feature a unique format, differing from standard series procedures. The biggest change will no time trials. Passing points will determine the lineup from heat races. Del's Racing Collectibles added to the purse, making it $2,000, $2,000 and $3,000 to win, respectively. There will also be one reduced entry fee for the weekend.
Series officials are appreciative of Deer Creek Speedway for welcoming in the new tour on such a prestigious weekend. Much appreciation is also in store for the volunteers of the Gopher 50 event who are stewards of the race.
