Double Down Challenge & Driver Recognition Night At Deer CreekCole Queensland
Spring Valley, MN-By Todd Narveson: A new event is coming to Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota on Saturday, August 6. It is dubbed “The Double Down Challenge” and will also be a drivers recognition night. Drivers can race for double the purse they normally race for that night. All they need to do is pay a $50 entry fee when they sign in for the night.
It is a voluntary program but if a USRA Modified driver pays the $50 entry that night and wins the feature they will receive $2000 instead of the normal $1000 payout. The WISSOTA Super Stocks will be racing for $750 to win instead of $375, the USRA B-Mods and WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds can possibly take home $700 and the Street Stocks could win $500 just by paying the $50 entry fee. Not only the winner’s pay is doubled all positions in the feature race will be double the normal pay. All the driver needs to do is pay the entry fee and they are eligible.
Also that night the speedway will be honoring and recognizing drivers from the past that laid the groundwork for the sport which we all love today. If you are a retired racer from the 1950’s through the 1990’s we would like you to attend this race. Did you race at places such as Rochester, Lansing, Austin, Kasson, Zumbrota, Morristown, Red Wing, Cannon Falls, Fountain City, St. Charles and other tracks in southeast Minnesota? We would like to see you at this event. Free admittance will be given to those drivers so please call the track office at (507) 754-6107 if you are interested in attending.
Pit gates that day will open at 2:00 p.m. with the slingshots racing at 3:00 p.m. There will be a driver meet and greet from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are once again at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6:00 p.m. For more information on Deer Creek Speedway please go to www.deercreekspeedway.com.
