Deer Creek Speedway Looking For Retired RacersCole Queensland
Spring Valley, MN – Todd Narveson
On Saturday, July 28, the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota will be honoring and recognizing drivers from the past that laid the groundwork for the sport which we all love today. If you are a retired racer from the 1950’s through the 1990’s we would like you to attend this race. Did you race at places such as Rochester, Lansing, Austin, Kasson, Zumbrota, Morristown, Red Wing, Cannon Falls, Fountain City, St. Charles and other tracks in southeast Minnesota? We would like to see you at this event. Free admittance will be given to those drivers and one guest so please call the track office at (507) 754-6107 if you are interested in attending.
There will also be a full racing program that afternoon and evening. It is dubbed “The Double Down Challenge” for all five classes that race at the speedway. Drivers can race for double the purse they normally race for that night. All they need to do is pay a $50 entry fee when they sign in for the night.
Pit gates that day will open at 2:00 p.m. with the slingshots racing at 3:00 p.m. There will be a driver meet and greet from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will be a group photo taken at 5:00 p.m. and hot laps are at 5:30 p.m. We will introduce the retired racers in attendance at 5:40 p.m. and racing starts at 6:00 p.m.
