USRA Ironman Stock Cars Tackle Deer Creek June 29Cole Queensland
Spring Valley, MN – By: Todd Narveson – The World Of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars return to the Deer Creek Speedway on Thursday, June 29. Accompanying them on the program that evening will be the Holley USRA Ironman Stock Car Series.
The popular and ultra-competitive USRA Stock Cars will thrill the fans with their door-to-door position swapping action on the high banks of Deer Creek. It will be the 21st time the Stock Cars have raced at “The Creek”. Dan Christopher of Decorah, IA was the first ever Stock Car victor on September 20, 2003.
Tom Schmitt of Independence, IA and Mitch Hovden of Decorah, IA lead the way with four wins a piece. Kyle Falck of Decorah, IA has three wins, Lynn Panos of Calmar, IA and Jake Masters of Graettinger, IA both have two checkered flags. Christopher, Kevin Donlan of Decorah, IA; Steve Jackson of Des Moines, IA and Shawn Peter of Mabel, MN have one win each. Matt Jones of Waukon, IA was the most recent winner on May 27 of this spring.
On race day pit gates will open at 2:00 p.m., grandstands at 4:00 p.m. with draw cut-off at 6:00 p.m. The green flag will wave at 7:30 p.m. Pit passes for the show are $40 and the race winner will take home $600.
The stock cars do not need to pre-register for the event but we do ask that they go to https://www.myracepass.com/register/?reg=1396&n=12157 and setup a FREE My Race Pass account. This is the new scoring system that we are utilizing and every driver needs an account. By setting up an account this will speed up check-in at the speedway.
The Deer Creek Speedway is a high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval which sits on 60 acres south of Rochester, MN with one of America’s most popular state-of-the-art racing complexes and an adjoining campground.
