Mascot Night Returns to Deer Creek Speedway this Weekend

Free grandstand admission to anyone wearing a Boy or Girl Scout uniform!  Fundraising continues to help support local schools.

SPRING VALLEY, MN – June 25, 2014:  The ever popular mascot night returns to The Creek this week.  This special event will not only highlight some of the most talented drivers in the mid-west but a variety of activities to help support eleven local participating schools and some furry friends.


The day will kick off early in the afternoon as the little stars will climb into their cars shortly after their 2:30 pit meeting.  The Truck Country Slingshots will then tackle the recently resurfaced banks of the Button Buck Speedway.  The afternoon events are FREE to watch from the grandstands.

Shortly after the completion of the afternoon events fans will notice some interesting creatures roaming around the facility as eleven local schools will have their mascots on hand to help raise money to fund a number of school programs.  Schools that have signed up include:  Grand Meadow, Kingsland, Riceville, Glenville, Hayfield, Osage, Goodhue, Blooming Prairie, LeRoy-Ostrander, Stewartville, and Decorah.

Three other guests will also be making an appearance including Viktor, the Minnesota Viking’s mascot, Bruiser from the Austin Bruins and Sting from the Rochester Community & Technical College (RCTC).  Combined these fourteen furry friends will be lead the Kids Club activities starting at 4:30.  Shortly after two of the Minnesota Viking’s Cheerleaders will also be making an appearance from 5:00-6:00.

The first grMVCFullColoreen flag is set to fly on Deer Creek Speedway at 6:00 as all five weekly divisions are scheduled to be on hand.  Like the summer temps the track point battles are heating up as this week marks the mid-season point.  Weekly point division classes include the USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods, the WISSOTA Super Stocks, WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds and the WISSOTA Street Stocks.

During the evening event’s fans on hand will get a chance to bid on a number of silent auction items with 100% of the proceeds going to the participating schools.

Ticket Info:  Kids 12 & under are FREE!  Anyone wearing a Boy or Girl Scout uniform will get in for FREE!  Adults $12

Pit Passes:  Kids 12 & under $15.  Adults $25

Schedule of Events

2:00  Pit Gate Opens

2:30  Truck Country Slingshot Pit Meeting followed by racing on Button Buck Speedway.

3:30  Driver entry opens for Deer Creek Speedway drivers.

5:30  Draw cut off followed by hot laps.

5:45  Pit Meeting
